The Buddha dome is a 30 foot diameter, four frequency geodesic dome based on the geometry originally created by Buckminster Fuller.

Why is it called "The Buddha Dome"?

The Dome is situated in a calm, natural environment, where just a short distance away, a 10 foot statue of Buddha offers a sense of peace and serenity to the land.

The vision for the Buddha dome is that it be a place for musical events, workshops, and gatherings to unite those of like mind. The dome geometry offers a very unique acoustical experience making it an ideal place for singing, chanting, toning, or dancing. One friend even described dome energy as the "ultimate dance flow facilitator".

Custom Domes

Custom geodesic domes can be created for a wide range of applications, including event domes, greenhouse domes, and even storage domes. During the winter of 2007/2008, the Ottawa region received near record breaking amounts of snowfall which resulted in the collapse of numerous structures. The geodesic dome is the ideal structure for regions with heavy snow loads as this geometric configuration will support a tremendous weight without concern of collapse.

Who is Buckminster Fuller ?

R. Buckminster Fuller (1895-1983) was one of the great American visionaries of the 20th century. Best-known as the inventor of the geodesic dome, Fuller devoted much of his life to resolving the gap between the sciences and the humanities, which he believed was preventing society from taking a comprehensive view of the world. His theories and innovations traversed the worlds of architecture, visual art, literature, mathematics, molecular biology, and environmental science and have had a deep impact on all of those fields.
